Melissa Weathers

Primary Therapist

Melissa graduated from the University of Utah in 2000 with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Since then, she has worked in a variety of mental health settings with a wide range of presenting problems including mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, autism spectrum disorders, and most recently, she has been working in a residential treatment facility that focuses specifically on utilizing exposure response prevention to treat Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder and various Obsessive-Compulsive related disorders. She received training through the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute, and has also received advanced training in pediatric Obsessive Compulsive Disorder through the BTTI.  

Melissa is excited to be working with people struggling with the symptoms of OCD and various anxiety disorders which can cause paralyzing levels of distress. Her level of experience, education and expertise will benefit the clients of Lifted Counseling and Wellness.  When she is not working, you are likely to find Melissa attending a yoga class, baking sourdough bread, spending time with her family and friends. She has a great sense of humor and treats her clients with dignity, compassion and respect as they work through their issues so they may live a more fulfilling and satisfying life.  

Melissa has received specialized training from the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute to effectively treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and other OCD related disorders. She has also been trained through the Maiberger Institute to use Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
